Charles Goodall Webster was born May 16th, 1884 in Mackay, Australia, the sixth child of Charles Webster & Julia Garcia.

Charles was named Goodall after a police magistrate, Captain William Robert Goodall, who married Marianne Willison Macquarie at his parents’ residence, ‘Eulamere’, in 1882. (Marianne was a great niece of Lachlan Macquarie, Governor of NSW.)
Charles followed his older brother Charles Franklin Garcia Webster to New Zealand & by 1911 he was living in Wanganui, working as an accountant.
Charles married Lily Templeton Robson on August 7th, 1912 at her parents residence of Deansburn, Balgownie, Wanganui.
They initially lived at 86 Campbell St, Wanganui & eventually settled by 1938 at 7 Parsons St, Wanganui.
Charles was an auctioneer & livestock trader. He set up a business with Mr B C Smith, trading under the name of Smith, Webster & Co. The business focused on doing business with farmers as stock & station agents, land & general commission agents, wool brokers & insurance agents.
In May 1917 Charles became a member of the Wanganui Agricultural association & was a long-serving secretary of the Wanganui sheep dog trial club.
Charles & Lily were to have 4 children. Sadly Kenneth died soon after birth & daughter Joan, who married Eric Sharp was killed in a car crash in 1955. Their third child, Ian Charles, married Catherine Tremaine Maunsell in 1951 but they had no children. Ian worked as a company director in Wanganui, NZ. Their fourth child, Marion Yvonne, married Mervyn Alex Robbie who farmed near Wanganui.
Lily died on July 7th, 1967 & Charles died March 21st, 1971.
